Kerry Cerra writes books from her heart. HEAR ME is her latest middle grade novel.

How would your life change if you were diagnosed with a hearing loss at twelve years old? That's the problem Rayne grapples with -- trying to pretend she hears better than she does, losing the lyrics to her favorite music, and facing possible surgery.

Rayne's story is compelling as she runs away from cochlear implant surgery and discovers some surprising truths.

***** A Must Read

Messin' Around

I love any kind of art. Right now I'm deep into glue and paper snippets for collage. Now, I'll warn you. Collage is messy. Glue sticks to your papers and pieces, but also to your fingers, clothes, glasses and hair. Paper scraps land on every surface. And painted papers fill plastic folders.
Of course, I'm a big fan of mess. When I create a mess, I'm making art, cooking, or digging dirt.

Some artists that inspire me are Vanessa Brantley-Newton, Oge Mora, Laurie Keller, Eric Carle, and Melissa Sweet.
